Chief Minister vows to hold Expos in tourism, agriculture, mineral and other sectors in Balochistan in time to come
The Chief Minister, Jam Kamal Khan has stated that role of the Balochistan province has immense importance in economic development of Pakistan and as such time is ripe to make investment in the province owing to its significance.
He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of the Balochistan’s first Livestock Expo that commenced here at the Expo Center located in the premises of University of Balochistan (UoB) on Monday.
The President Dr Arif Alvi was the chief guest at the inauguration of Livestock Expo, who formally inaugurated it as well.
Governor Balochistan, Justice (Retd) Amanullah Khan Yasinzai, provincial ministers, members of the assembly, Commander Southern Command, Lt. General Waseem Ashraf, dignitaries, chief executives of various national and multinational companies as well as the diplomats were part of the inaugural ceremony of the Livestock Expo.
The Chief Minister maintained that the first ever Livestock Expo would pay the way for boosting investment and increasing the confidence of investors in the province.
It would also highlight the positive image of the province at the national and international scenario, he maintained.
Moreover, the economic indicators would also improve with the Livestock Expo being held in Quetta.
The Chief Minister said that it is unavoidable to bring improvement in the livestock sector in order to meet the increasing demand of halal meat in the international market.
The province’s revenue would also increase by exporting the products with the halal food industry, modern farming as well as their processing and packing, Jam Kamal further elaborated the importance of the livestock Expo.
While on the other hand, with development of the livestock sector, the foreign exchange reserves would also be increased, adding he believed.
The Chief Minister on the occasion regretfully pointed out that unfortunately the livestock sector was never seen as the industry.
But, the provincial government has made a stride in the sector by holding the first ever Expo in the province. He said that the major portion of the province’s population is associated with the livestock sector and what pleases him that we are working in such a sector which related to common men of the province.
He said that the conductive environment would create for investment in the livestock sector. This would create much needed awareness about gaining substantial income by meeting the increasing demand of the meat at the world market, he said.
He also spoke at length about the potential the province has in various sectors saying that there is a dire need to utilize the immense natural resources of the province.
He on the occasion also applauded the role of civil and military institutions for establishing peace and playing invaluable role for creating conducive environment for investment in the province.
He said that it is because of their invaluable services that it could be made possible to hold the Livestock Expo in the province.
He said that the present government is bringing improvement in the overall governance in province. He on the occasion pledged to hold similar expos in tourism, agriculture, mineral and other sectors of the province.
