Balochistan Finance Committee meets: CM lays emphasis on putting up mechanism for distribution of funds among districts

Jam Kamal announces to give representation to LG Department in Finance Committee making amendment in related Act

 

The Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan has underlined the need to develop a mechanism for ensuing funds distribution keeping in view the population, area, income and indicators of human development in the districts.

He said that a good system would ensure achieving the sustainable development goals.

The Chief Minister stated so while addressing the provincial finance committee meeting here on Wednesday.

The Provincial Minister Finance, Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development, Abdul Rehman Buzdar, Secretary Finance, Noor-ul-Haq Baloch and other concerned high ups were in attendance at the meeting.

The Chief Minister was briefed about the distribution of funds as per the population, area, constituency, income and indicators of human development in the districts.

Addressing the meeting, Jam Kamal said that the needs of urban and rural areas are different from one another. Under the given situation, we need to prepare such a mechanism that ensures funds distribution in view of the population, area, income and human development indicators.

He said that the surveys would be carried out with regard to the assets and available infrastructure in the districts.

He announced to give representation to the local government department in the provincial finance committee by making necessary amendment in it’s Act.

The formal approval of the same would be taken from the provincial cabinet, adding he mentioned.

The Chief Minister was of strong view that there would be substantial results if the funds are spent in an organized manner enabling people of the province to play wholehearted role in development process.

Later, the Chief Minister directed to the Commissioner Usman Ali Khan and Administrator Quetta Metropolitan Corporation Tariq Javed Mengal to make the cleanliness system of Quetta effective activating the cleanliness of the main roads and solid waste management system. The street lights should also be made functional, adding he directed.

He also directed to expedite the process of development and expansion of the city roads. He said that Quetta is the face of Balochistan and we need to bring before the best picture of the city so that its beautiful face represents the province.
