Prize distribution of Archery Association: Special attention being given on promotion of sports, maintains Jam Kamal

Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan has stated that the government is paying special attention on development and promotion of sports sector like other sectors in the province.

He announced to start project of the sports complex in all districts of the province soon. The facilities of indigenous sports would also be provided besides the famous sports of cricket and football at the local level.

This and similar views were expressed by the Chief Minister while addressing the prize distribution ceremony held under the auspices of Balochistan Archery Association at the Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS) here on Tuesday.

The ceremony was attended by the Provincial Ministers and members of the provincial assembly, Chairman of the Archery Association, Prince Ahmed Ali, pro Vice Chancellor of the BUITEMS, Faisal Khan Kakar besides office bearers of various sports associations.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that sports and other positive activities are important for mental and physical health of the students and as such they must be provided the desired opportunities.

He also stressed the need to motivate the younger generation to take part in the sports activities. He said that the youth who take part in the sports are preferred in admissions in the higher educational institutions in developed countries. The students who excel in various sports are also given subsidy in their fees, he added.

The Chief Minister said that every youngster cannot become cricketer or footballer, but he also has the potential of other sports, adding he observed.

He said that the province would be able to produce good players only when it has good facilities for them.

He assured that the talented players of other affordable sports would be encouraged and patronized.

Jam Kamal appreciated the Archery Association for holding the event successfully. The Advisor to Chief Minister for Sports, Abdul Khaliq Hazara and Prince Ahmed Ali also addressed the ceremony.

Meanwhile, he distributed archery goods among the players besides giving away shields and certificates to the office bearers of various sports organizations.
