High level meeting reviews progress of PSDP projects

Chief Minister calls for far-reaching planning in development process in Balochistan; believes project of trade centers at Pak-Afghan & Pak-Iran borders to be revolutionary

A high level meeting was held to review the progress of development projects included in the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) with Chief Minister Jam Kamal in the chair here on Thursday.

Participants of the meeting were the Provincial Minister Finance, Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi and other Ministers and Advisors including Muhammad Khan Toor Utmankhail, Muhammad Khan Lehri, Abdul Khaliq Hazara, Parliamentary Secretary, Ms. Mah Jabeen Shirani, Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development department, secretaries of various concerned provincial government departments.

The meeting was briefed about pace of work on the 77 development projects included in various sectors.

It was informed that the work is continued on priority projects included in the PSDP in addition to the new ones at a fast pace. Tenders of as many as 1135 development projects have so far been released, it was briefed further.

The meeting was also briefed about the progress of the proposed projects of establishment of trade centers at the Pak-Afghan and Pak-Iran borders.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister directed to hire the services of consultant for the trade centers.

Referring the project, he believed that it would be a revolutionary project for promotion of economic activities in border areas of the country.

He also directed to expedite the process of acquiring of land for the important projects in the province.

The Chief Minister said that revolutionary changes are occurring in all sectors including the housing sector.

We would also have to opt for expertise from the routine things. He stressed that the development departments must work on improving the laws, rules and regulations.

He also called for making base to the far reaching planning in the development process.

Moreover, the meeting was briefed about various other projects including the establishment of new primary schools, setting up of Nursing training college, Roshan Balochistan Programme, wood boat industry in Lasbela and Gwadar, establishment of new model towns in various districts under Public-Private Partnership, Apna Ghar housing scheme, master planning of districts, construction of sports complexes, women hostels in divisional headquarters and Quetta development Package.
