Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan has said that no compromise will be made on the quality and timely completion of all the ongoing development projects in the province. Chairing a high-level meeting to review the progress of the Public Sector Development Program held in Quetta today, the Chief Minister instructed the concerned officials to rationalize the long-running development projects and submit a report on their progress.    He also directed the Finance Department to compile a data bank of all government buildings and public assets.

Earlier, the Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Abdul Saboor Kakar briefed the meeting on the progress made so far on development projects. While giving a briefing on development projects he said that about Rs. 54 billion authorization has been granted for new and ongoing development projects so far.   He said that out of 1597 new schemes, 1430 schemes have been approved by PDWP and DSC.  He said that more than Rs. 43 billion has been released for ongoing and new development projects. The meeting was briefed on the progress of 105 priority projects of various departments. It was informed that out of these projects, 74 projects have been approved by PDW and DSC.  Briefing the meeting regarding the Provincial PSDP Strategy 2021-2022, it was informed that a regular timeline has been prepared for the preparation of PSDP for the next financial year under which all administrative departments would submit concept papers by mid-January 2021.  The Concept Clearance Committees will clear the concept papers by January 30, 2021. Similarly, from March 1, 2021, the preparation of PC-1 will be started.  The Chief Minister directed to rationalize the long-awaited development projects and submit a report on their progress and said that profiling of each district should be done.  The Chief Minister also directed the Finance Department to compile a database on all government buildings and other public assets. Additional Chief Secretary P&D, Secretary Finance, Secretary S & GAD and secretaries of other concerned departments including Secretary Information, Commissioner Quetta were present in the meeting while Divisional Commissioners participated through video link.
