Whirlwind visit of snow hit areas: Relief operation continues wholeheartedly, says Jam Kamal Khan

CM appreciates timely and successful rescue operation for saving precious lives of several persons stuck during snowfall; says rehabilitation to be started after completion of rescue and relief activities in affected parts  

The Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan paid a whirlwind aerial visit of the snow-hit areas of the province on Thursday.

He went round of various areas affected in the recent heavy snowfall including Kan Mehtarzai, Muslim Bagh, Killa Saifullah, Khanozai, Pishin and other parts of the province by the government’s helicopter.

Also accompanied him were the Provincial Minister for Finance, Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, Provincial Minister for Revenue, Mir Saleem Ahmed Khosa, Muhammad Khan Toor Utmankhail, Commissioner Zhob, Sohailur Rehman, Director General Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Imran Zarkoon and other concerned high ups.

During the visit, he reviewed the relief activities being carried out in different areas of the province mostly hit by snowfall.

He was also briefed about the relief operation by the Deputy Commissioners Killa Saifullah and Loralai besides the concerned PDMA on the spot.

During the visit, the Chief Minister also met the tribal elders besides chairing ahighlevel meetingin Pishin.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister appreciated the concerned institutions and administration for saving several precious lives by carrying out timely and successful rescue operation.

He said that the operation for provision of food, tents and other necessities of life is continued wholeheartedly in the snow affected areas of the province. The areas which otherwise were out of reach by land due to heavy snowfall were accessed by helicopter of the provincial government, he maintained.

He said that the provincial communication and works department has been directed to restore the link roads and passages which were disconnected after the intense snowfall in the province.

He said that the phase of rehabilitation would be started after completion of rescue and relief activities in the snow hit areas of the province.

The  Chief Minister maintained that the life of common men has been affected definitely due to the snowfall in different parts of the province. However, it (snow) is blessing which would benefit the lands and crops abundantly, he added.

He also said that the reservoirs of water would also increase in the areas of snowfall. While on the other hand, he mentioned at the same time that the affected people would be compensated paying for the losses caused to them.

He said that all available resources would be mobilized for rehabilitation of the basic infrastructure damaged in the province.

The Chief Minister on the occasion also issued directives to resolve the issues being faced by people of the affected areas.
